I Don't Mind

A weeping willow grows throughout my spin,

Branches too flexible

Easily snapped,

Too low,

Leaves tugged and pulled.

But I don't mind.

Because if it means I'm giving

That weeping expression

A break from being so bad

Then I'd cry for an eternity.

A river of salt runs through my veins,

Rocks too round

For skipping and tossing,

Rapids too strong

Hydraulics churning just below my skin.

But I don't mind.

Because if it means that I'm giving

The boy trying so hard

To catch a saltwater fish in my freshwater blood,

Then I'd fill myself with the most pain filled tears.

A school of fish swim under my eyelids,

The Iris too cold blue of the arctic,

No place for tropical swimmers,

My lashes too long,

Seaweed choking out the life inside.

But I don't mind.

Because if it means that I'm giving

That voiceless woman

An expression of resemblance,

Then I'd sing forever, a song with no sound.

A mermaid lives in my water filled lungs,

The darkness seems to be perfect

For her deep sea sight,

The ocean trapped inside me

Is too stagnant for drinking.

But I don't mind.

Because if it means that I'm giving

This red headed marvel

A place to hide from squid,

Then I'd drown in sea and shell bras and gills and tails.
